The U.S Coast Guard has confirmed that 33 people are missing after a diving boat caught fire in the early hours of Labor Day off the coast of Southern California.

The U.S. Coast Guard said it has launched several boats to help over two dozen people: The U.S Coast Guard has confirmed that 33 people are missing after a dive tour boat caught fire and sunk off the coast of Southern California. Five people were rescued by a private boat from the fire that broke out in the early hours of Labor Day.
Ventura County Fire Department responded to a distress call at 3:28am local time. 38 passengers and crew were onboard the 75ft diving boat, called Conception, which was located in the Channel Islands National Park,The vessel was originally based in Santa Barbara and had been on a Labor Day weekend trip.
