A 49-year-old inmate was found unresponsive in his cell Wednesday and died two days later at a hospital.
MILPITAS – A 49-year-old inmate at the Elmwood Correctional Facility died Friday, two days after deputies found him unresponsive in his cell, according to authorities.Deputies made the discovery while conducting a routine welfare check around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, Santa Clara County sheriff’s Deputy Felicia Segura said in a news release.
The county Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity once his next of kin is notified.
