Saturday's game at Snapdragon Stadium has been moved to 5 p.m. 'to avoid adverse weather conditions' as storm is expected to hit San Diego County
This weekend’s incoming storm and the threat of wet, windy weather has prompted the San Diego Wave to move its kickoff time ahead by two hours.
Saturday’s match against NJ/NY Gotham FC at Snapdragon Stadium will now start at 5 p.m., the team announced Friday afternoon. The move was made “to avoid adverse weather conditions due to Hurricane Hilary,” the team said in a statement. The match will still be streamed on Paramount+. The decision is the latest in a chain of moves as San Diego braces for torrential rain and high winds. The Padres, fighting for a National League wild-card spot, announced Friday that they will play a day-night doubleheader on Saturday rather than deal with Sunday’s scheduled weather.
