The magnitude-4.2 quake was reported at 6:16 p.m. about 11 miles from Temecula at a depth of 9 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. “This happened on an unnamed smaller fault that’s part of the Elsinore,” said San Diego State seismologist Tom Rockwell said. “It [was] beneath Palomar Mountain, in an area of granitic rock.”Yep, that was an earthquake!
