UPDATE: A 17-year old who is wrapping up his time in the gang court program says it’s changed his life and outlook on his future.
“The trends are that violent crime is on the rise right now with juveniles,” Quezada said.
Quezada says there’s positive news. The programs in place to keep kids out of a life of crime are working. “It’s harder when you’re out there, you know? I know how it is, so you don’t think before you do something. You just do it. And then you think about it later when you’re sitting in the cell. That’s when it all just comes to you,” the teen said.
