John Lovett ran for a pair of touchdowns to drive San Antonio ’s best rushing performance of the season, stabilizing the Brahmas in a 25-15 win against the Arlington Renegades Saturday at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington . Lovett paced the offense with 13 rushes for 95 yards, while Morgan Ellison , signed April 16 after spending training camp with the Renegades, carried seven times for 84 yards.
The Brahmas delivered on that plan early, drawing a pass interference penalty against Payne for the game’s opening first down and then running right at his middle linebacker spot for a 36-yard gain by Lovett. The opening drive turned into a 43-yard field goal for Ryan Santoso, and the Brahmas reached the end zone on their next two possessions for a 15-3 second-quarter lead.
