Salt Lake City firefighters have identified one of their own as a driver involved in a wrong-way crash that left him in serious condition.a head-on collision on I-15Maxwell was traveling northbound in a Dodge truck with three juvenile passengers around 5:15 a.m. when a Toyota Corolla, driving southbound in the northbound lane, struck his vehicle.
On Oct. 24, members of the Salt Lake City Fire Department took to social media to confirm Maxwell’s identity. “Engineer Maxwell has dedicated his career to helping others through their toughest moments, and now he needs our help,” the agency stated. “Recently, he was involved in a tragic car accident, and he and his family are facing a long road to recovery.”
In a GoFundMe organized to help Andy and his family cover medical bills and rehabilitation costs, loved ones stated that he was airlifted to Utah Valley Hospital following the crash, where he has undergone several surgeries and remains in serious condition.
