Looking back at Shepherd University's first NFL player and their connection with the Saints.
The New Orleans Saints will face an undrafted rookie QB named Tyson Bagent when they play the Chicago Bears this Sunday. Bagent will make his third straight start in place of an injured Justin Fields.
While few average football fans know anything about the Shepherd Rams, it is a program with some familiarity to the New Orleans Saints. Bagent is the sixth player from Shepherd's program to make it to the NFL.Wayne Wilson, RB Wayne Wilson earned a Super Bowl ring with the 1987-88 Washington Redskins. He played only two games with the team as a replacement player during a four week player strike. The Redskins would go on to win Super Bowl XXII and also awarded championship rings to their replacement players.
