Chabane will sell the French soccer team for 49 times what he paid in 2011.

The team posted a profit of $3.5 million on revenue of $34 million during the prepandemic 2018-19 season, thanks mainly to pulling in $22.7 million in broadcasting revenue in the top French league versus revenue of just $5.4 million when they were in the second division.

Angers, hit hard by the lack of ticket revenue during the pandemic, lost $20 million in 2020-21, the last season for which results have been reported. But fret not for Chabane. Sources tellhe’s very close to selling the team for $84 million—49 times what he paid. The buyer? One source said he heard it was Germania Financial Services, but that couldn’t be substantiated through other contacts. Both Angers SCO and GFS didn’t respond to requests for comment.
