Sad news for fans of You've Been Framed
It's been a mainstay of TV schedules for the last three decades but ITV has confirmed a popular TV show will not be returning in 2023.
Initially hosted by Jeremy Beadle, You've Been Framed was a huge hit with viewers when it launched. The final episode aired in August last year and was hosted by comedian Harry Hill Initially based on a Japanese show with the same format, the series began in the UK in 1990 and was similar to a number of other shows across the world.currently in its 31st series, with Jeremy Beadle as the host. Lisa Riley took over the role as host from Beadle in 1998. Jonathan Wilkes replaced Riley in 2003 before Harry Hill took over in 2004. He narrated the show sand has voiced 341 of its 701 episodes.
A source told The Sun said: "The fact that You’ve Been Framed has been shelved is a sad sign of the times," The Daily Star reports. "It’s a different world to Jeremy Beadle’s heyday. Why would viewers tune in to a show featuring funny videos when they could see the same sort of thing on the internet? "Silly clips are hugely popular on social media and the right video can go viral. There’s a thrill in achieving that — even though you don’t earn the £250 fee which You’ve Been Framed paid for contributions."
