S&P 500 hit a new intraday high, with shares of Tiffany and Microsoft helping to lead U.S. stocks higher
The S&P 500 opened above its previous intraday high Monday ahead of another busy week of corporate earnings and economic data.
The benchmark index edged up 0.6% to 3041, above the intraday record of 3027.98 from July 26. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 171 points, or 0.6%. The Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 0.7%.
