Russia’s top counterterrorism body blames Ukrainian intelligence agencies for the deadly bombing attack against a well-known military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky, who fervently supported Moscow's war against Ukraine

Investigators believe that the bomb that killed Tatarsky was hidden in a bust that was given to him by the suspect on Monday night.

Shortly before the announcement, Russia’s Investigative Committee, the top state criminal investigation agency, reported the arrest of Darya Tryopova, a 26-year-old St. Petersburg resident suspected of involvement in the attack. Tryopova had been previously detained for taking part in anti-war rallies.

A video showed Tatarsky making jokes about the bust and putting it on the table next to him just before the explosion. Dugina’s father, Alexander Dugina, a nationalist philosopher and political theorist who strongly supports the Russian offensive in Ukraine, hailed Tatarsky as an “immortal” hero who died to save the Russian people.
