Rupert Murdoch is set to tie the knot for a fifth time after getting engaged to his new partner, according to reports.It’s now reported that Murdoch, 92, is now engaged to his current partner Ann Lesley Smith, who is said to be 26 years his junior.
Smith, 66, is a former San Francisco police chaplain and was previously married to country singer and radio and TV executive Chester Smith, who died in 2008.It will be Murdoch’s fifth time down the aisle having previously tied the knot with Wendi Deng, Anna Murdoch Mann and Patricia Booker, as well as Hall.Murdoch popped the question in New York City on Friday to coincide with St Patrick’s Day, and presented Smith with an Asscher-cut diamond solitaire.
‘In perspective, it’s not my first rodeo. Getting near 70 means being in the last half. I waited for the right time. Friends are happy for me.’ Murdoch also revealed how they met at his vineyard Moraga in Bel Air, California late last year, when he hosted a party for 200 people.
