A spokesperson for the trust said that 'like all hospitals across the country, the RUH is extremely busy'.
The Royal United Hospitals in Bath has declared a critical incident.
However it added that "people should still come forward for urgent care and support if they need it"., which said there was a surge in demand over the Christmas period. "This enables us to work in different ways and access more support from our partners so we can continue to care for our patients.
