Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has appointed a co-founder of Moms for Liberty, a parental rights group that several Republican presidential candidates have wooed, to the state Commission on Ethics.
Mr. DeSantis’ office announced the appointment of Tina Descovich on Wednesday. It awaits confirmation in the Florida Senate, where Republicans hold the majority.
“It will be a privilege to serve the state I love as a member of this commission,” Ms. Descovich said Thursday in a statement to The Washington Times. Ms. Descovich, who holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations, served on the Brevard County School Board and is a past president of the Florida Coalition of School Board Members.
