Houston Rockets basketball player Kevin Porter Jr. was arrested Monday morning after an alleged assault involving his girlfriend at a Manhattan hotel, PEOPLE confirms
A NYPD spokesperson tells PEOPLE the victim had laceration on the right side of her face and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Police allege Porter Jr. “struck her multiple times about the body and placed his hands around her neck.”
“We have no further comment at this time,” the Rockets spokesperson says. Porter Jr.’s agent did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment Monday.
