I fall on the side of feeling somewhat sorry for Huggins, because clearly he has issues, but mostly disgusted at his behavior, considering he held a position of influence over young men. This was not his first run-in with alcohol-related controversy. Huggins was arrested for DUI in 2004 while coaching at Cincinnati, where he was told to get out or get fired. He got out.
As for Huggins’ legacy, it comes down to whether you think the ends justify the means. The 69-year-old has 863 wins. But his bullying behavior and off-court losses loom large.The U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club
