Archie and his friends are back, as a behind the scenes image shows that filming on Riverdale season 7 has officially begun. Since its premiere in 2017, Riverdale has stood as one of the CW's biggest and wildest shows. The dark teen drama has come a long way since its first season, which focused on the relatively tame plot of a murder mystery.

The twist ending of Riverdale season 6 had the mind-controlling antagonist Percival Pickens , bring a comet down to the titular town before returning to his own universe. Due to some quick thinking by Veronica and Cheryl, played by Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch respectively, they see to the safety of Riverdale and all of its inhabitants.
What To Expect From Riverdale's Final Season It's difficult to predict where Riverdale will go next, as it has taken its viewers on an unpredictable ride. However, there is always room for speculation. Riverdale season 7 will follow the gang as high schoolers again, except in the 1950s, specifically the day after James Dean's death.
With the previous season of Riverdale taking a headlong dive into the supernatural, it would be a surprise if the final season does not continue on that trajectory. Given the recent success movies and shows have found with the idea of the multiverse, it will also be interesting to see how Riverdale plans to weave that into the last episodes, if it does at all.
