Tyler Toffoli scores game winner on breakaway with 4.7 seconds left as Calgary Flames edge Dallas Stars 5-4
Nick Ritchie scored a goal in his debut for Calgary after being part of the NHL’s first brother-for-brother trade and Tyler Toffoli scored on a breakaway with 4.7 seconds left as the Flames beat Central Division-leading Dallas 5-4 on Monday night for their first win in six games.
After Dallas failed to capitalize on a late power play following a boarding penalty against Ritchie, it looked like the game was headed to overtime. But Toffoli was charging through the middle of the ice and scored his 26th goal with a wrister past Jake Oettinger after a pass from Jonathan Huberdeau.
Nikita Zadorov, Elias Lindholm and Rasmus Andersson also scored goals for the wildcard-chasing Flames, who were 0-3-2 in their previous five games. Domi, who had 18 goals in 60 games with the Blackhawks, had a 40-foot wrister through traffic ricochet off the left post earlier in the second period. He made his Stars debut on Saturday.
