Beaumont Studio\u0027s rent and property taxes have risen to over $42,000 a month. The non\u002Dprofit has fallen $5,000 short for a few months.

“All these artists go to work every day and have made careers out of their passions. Where will they go if we don’t get through this?”

Kusnierz, who has been relying on government grants to subsidize tenant rents, said she can longer keep up with the costs. “We’re paying tomorrow’s prices, today. The fact that density tax is allowed to be part of what we are charged is ludicrous.”asking the community for financial support. It has since received more than half of its $42,000 donation goal.

“We know development is coming. We want to work with the city and a developer to figure out a way for us to potentially secure space in that future building.”
