🔴 The government ban on fracking pledged in the 2019 Conservative manifesto will remain in place, Rishi Sunak has made clear PMQs
Asked by Green MP Caroline Lucas at Prime Minister’s Questions about the moratorium, Mr Sunak said he “stands by the manifesto on that”., whose threatened rebellion just a week ago helped trigger Ms Truss’ resignation.
It is also a shift from Mr Sunak’s own comments during this summer’s Tory leadership campaign, when he said fracking should go ahead “if local communities support it”.
