Riders rescued after rollercoaster stops working at SeaWorld [Breaking]

Several riders were rescued from a rollercoaster that stopped working at SeaWorld San Diego on Friday afternoon, San Diego fire officials and a park spokesperson said.

The park’s Tidal Twister ride “faulted” about 4 p.m., SeaWorld San Diego spokesperson Tracy Spahr said in a text. She said it was a “temporary fault which caused the ride to stop.” She did not elaborate on what might have caused the ride to stop. Spahr said there were 16 people on the ride when it stopped. The ride has two trains, each seating 16 people, and only one was running at the time, she said. According to SeaWorld’s website, the ride reaches up to 30 mph along a figure-eight track.that firefighters had “safely extricated 30 people” from a rollercoaster at SeaWorld, and had cleared the scene by shortly after 5 p.m.

The reason for the discrepancy in the number of people who were removed from the ride was not immediately clear.
