Jalon Nelson, 20, was shot and killed on the city's South Side on July 24, 2019. His homicide remains unsolved.
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in the homicide of a man in July 2019.
Around 12:30 a.m. on July 24, 2019, Columbus police were called to the 1100 block of Oakwood Avenue, on the city's South Side, after getting a ShotSpotter alert of multiple shots being fired in the area. Officers were also made aware of a crash that occurred at the corner of Linwood Avenue and Reinhard Avenue about two blocks away.The officers who got to the crash scene found a 1995 Buick Rivera that had crashed into a utility pole and a man slumped over in the driver's seat.
The man was identified as 20-year-old Jalon Nelson, who was from the Northeast Side. Nelson was rushed to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center but died from his injuries.
