A retired Cleveland police officer was fined $50,000 Thursday for underreporting taxes on his business, one of the area’s top security companies for major events.
Senior U.S. District Judge James Gwin sentenced Harry Gant, 71, of Mentor to five years of probation for fleecing the IRS out of $235,000. With interest, Gant paid the government $294,627 last month.
