He decided he had to lose weight after developing type 2 diabetes and COPD
A retired Nottinghamshire baker said he probably would not be able to walk if he had not lost five stone in two years. Colin White, 74, decided he had to shed the weight in 2017 after developing type 2 diabetes and COPD.
"I wouldn't say it was even a diet, it just changed the way I ate. I eat a lot healthier now," he told Nottinghamshire Live. "If I was still that weight now I don't think I would be able to walk because of my knee. I think it would be impossible to walk about with that weight on top of it." As a result of losing the weight, Mr White, of Nuthall, said he no longer has diabetes or COPD. "I was fat getting fat, I was fat and ugly in those days and I'm a lot skinnier now. I'm just ugly now. I needed new clothes and shoes. One thing you don't think about is that your feet get smaller, I've got shoes that are no good."
