The Iowa baseball team is under investigation by state gambling authorities after several players were suspended for this past weekend’s series against Ohio State.

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission launched an investigation into the matter on Monday, Darren Rovell of Action Sports is. It’s worth noting, however, that the IRGC has not stopped taking bets on Hawkeyes baseball. Four players, including leading hitter Keaton Anthony and top relief pitcher Jacob Henderson, sat out last week for what the Iowa athletic department termed a “potential rules violation.” The school acknowledged the suspensions, but did not provide further clarification.
