According to a report by TSN, the NHL team is set to re-sign Thunder Bay forward Jordan Staal to a four-year, $11.6-million deal.
Staal, who has played for the Hurricanes for the past 11 seasons, after being dealt to Carolina by the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 17-year NHL veteran had 17 goals and 34 points in 81 games this past season, helping lead his team to the Eastern Conference Final. The 34-year-old has 275 goals and 645 points in 1,173 career games, adding 68 points in 136 playoff games. Staal won a Stanley Cup in 2009 with the Penguins.
