were already scheduled to strike on 6 and 7 February, and the GMB union announced earlier this week that its ambulance workers would join them on 6 February.
Over the two days of action, NHS England said 27,800 bookings had to be rescheduled, including 5,000 operations and treatments. Health leaders have warned that emergency services are facing “alarming levels of stress” and that more hospital beds are “desperately needed”.
