The remnants of post-tropical storm Hillary are making their way up north and could hit parts of Alberta as early as Monday, providing some relief to the wildfires raging in B.C. and Alberta. The heaviest rainfall can be expected in the Alberta Elbow region, while southern parts of the province can expect rainfall anywhere between 20 to 44 millimetres, said Terry Lang, meteorologist for Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Southern B.C. can expect rainfall upwards of 44 mm, she added, with rainfall also expected in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.Hilary first made landfall in the Mexican state of Baja California on Sunday, where one person drowned. It then moved through mudslide-prone Tijuana and parts of southern California, prompting immediate evacuation efforts to save locals in the area blocked by floods, mud and debris flows and downed trees.
