Refugees began arriving in the U.S. after a month-long hiatus during which the Trump administration cut the number of refugees admitted into the country to its lowest level in years.

Only 18,000 refugees will be allowed into the U.S. this year, the lowest admissions cap in the history of the program., House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler and Immigration and Citizenship Subcommittee Chair Zoe Lofgren said there had been talk of raising the number of refugees admitted into the U.S. during discussions with Pompeo.
