With many terrific memories of his time in the nation\u0027s capital, Ottawa Redblacks assistant GM Jeremy Snyder, a Day Oner, is moving to Texas
Assistant general manager Jeremy Snyder and his family are packing up and moving to Texas. Snyder, who will remain in his Redblacks’ job, said his wife Melissa, a neuroscientist, got a job opportunity she couldn’t pass up.“We’ve moved a lot of times for my job,” said Snyder, who’s 44. “So, it’s time to put it on the other foot. It was an easy decision because of the opportunity, it’s too good.
Snyder grew up in a family who cut down trees for a living in Titusville, a small industrial town in northwestern Pennsylvania. He began his pro football career as a video intern with the Chicago Bears in 2003 before landing an expanded role as a football operations assistant. He was hired as a pro scout by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008. The Montreal Alouettes hired him as a scouting assistant in 2010, then he was given a full-time job in 2011.
“I remember sitting at the Barley Mow on Father’s Day, before we ever played a game, watching the U.S. Open. There was a group of locals sitting there. When I told them I was working for the football team, they were skeptical because of what had happened here in the past. And I was like, ‘Listen, our goal is to win a Grey Cup.’ They laughed. In Year 1, there were obviously growing pains.
