🔴 Reconciling with the Queen Consort is a low priority for the Duke of Sussex who has exposed the “distance” between himself and his stepmother, a royal author has said
“I think Camilla comes out worse than anyone else in the Royal Family, which is ironic, really, because she’s sort of quite bit-part.
“Harry clearly talks about feeling like an outsider his whole life, and one might expect that he and Camilla might be able to have some sort of level of understanding… They don’t.” Camilla was condemned over her relationship with the then Prince Charles while he was still married to Diana, Princess of Wales. But the public perception of her has shifted after royal courtiers worked to revamp her image over many years.
Ms Nicholl said Harry appeared to have “quite a personal vendetta” against Camilla with “this chief charge that she has leaked to newspapers in a bid to rehabilitate her own reputation at a cost to others”.“Is it that unheard of for the Palace to be trying to put the emphasis on Camilla’s charity work… Is that such a bad thing for the Palace to be doing? No, of course not. If Harry considered that briefing the media and manipulating the media, then he’s guilty of exactly the same charge.
Ms Nicholl claimed: “I remember being with him at the Palace quite a few years ago, when he said to me, ‘Please don’t write about what’s going on in my private life and can you write instead about the work I’m doing with the charity Walking with the Wounded,’ which I duly did. Which is what Camilla has done, which is try to get the media to take the attention off her past and private life and focus on all the good work that she is doing.
