Read Marc Benioff's internal memo explaining Bret Taylor's departure from Salesforce
The, not least of which Benioff, who made a passionate appeal to Taylor on the company's earnings call:"We love you deeply, you have a home here, we're gonna try to get you back somehow. Don't think you're gonna somehow get out of this alive because you're not."
"As the founder of two very successful companies, Bret is leaving Salesforce to return to his entrepreneurial roots," Benioff wrote in the email viewed by Insider."I'll always be Bret's biggest champion, and he'll always be part of our Salesforce 'Ohana."Thank you for everything you do everyday to make Salesforce the #1 CRM and one of the most admired companies in the world.
With that as our backdrop, I also want to share that Bret Taylor is stepping down as co-CEO, effective January 31, 2023. Since joining us six years ago through our acquisition of Quip, he has made a lasting mark on Salesforce as an incredible technologist, leader and friend to us all.
