The Royal Canadian Air Force is dealing with a high number of inexperienced personnel, as well as shortages of staff in key jobs.
The ongoing sexual misconduct crisis, concerns about toxic leadership and a lack of interest in the military among young people has hindered recruitment, according to various Canadian Forces reports. At the same time, skilled personnel are leaving, fed up by a lack of affordable housing near their military posts as well as with inadequate pay and benefits.
