A group of rats in an infested New Orleans police headquarters munched on marijuana seized inside an evidence room. The police building, which has been around since 1968, has been plagued by rodent and cockroach infestations. Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick informed the city council members that the rats are eating the marijuana and getting high. The council is considering a proposal to temporarily relocate the police headquarters to a high-rise building downtown. This would give the police department time to plan for a permanent headquarters.
