The best people from the best county ❤

In a world that can so often seem full of doom and gloom, it's important to shine a spotlight directly on moments of kindness that restore our faith in humanity. Lancashire residents go above and beyond every year by hosting charity events, running food banks and working together to help those in need.

Richard's mum Sonja Rimmer couldn't believe it when she saw Callum had posted the interaction on Facebook and said: "He's autistic but he's so caring and loving and doesn't like to see anyone upset. She was upset and hurt and he wanted to help her. "The store's customer trading manager Jane nominated Mandy for an Asda service superstar award for her kind act. She said: 'It was a lovely gesture from Mandy. The customer was so grateful to her for her help and compassion and later returned to the store to reimburse her. This was excellent service from Mandy and we are really proud of her.'"

A witness said: "They never left, even when my dad and his friend went to help. They could have taken off knowing that there were adults there but they didn’t and they stayed until he finally got a ride to the hospital and my dad's friend went with him. There was an ambulance called but they were told it could take up to four hours to get one to him."

When he told her it was £3, she put the item back down claiming it was too expensive but Matt then took it to the till and paid for it, leaving the elderly lady speechless and in tears. Matt said: "She seemed really kind and looked caring, she was on her own though and it was a shame, she didn't have much in her shopping basket, a kitchen sponge and something else - just two things in her basket.

A day later, a post showing a black wallet that had been found "floating in the sea" at Sandylands Beach was shared to social media by Sam Williams, and residents were quick to point out that its unlucky owner had issued a plea just the day before. Luckily, Ian Thompson from DJ Tomo's Disco and Karaoke came to their aid. Ian told LancsLive: "I got home from work around three in the afternoon and at around five-ish my wife told me about the Facebook post she'd seen. Luckily, I hadn't taken my equipment out of my van so it was just a matter of grabbing my laptop and going.
