Petco Park gates will open at 4:30 p.m. for what is expected to be a sell-out crowd for Thursday's opener against the Colorado Rockies
With the continued threat of rain throughout Thursday afternoon, the Padres have pushed opening day’s first pitch to 6:40 p.m.
Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. With a sellout crowd expected, the Padre are encouraging fans to arrive early and pre-purchased parking at one of the team-controlled lots. The team is also encouraging fans without pre-purchased paring passes to utilize public transportation and rideshare services. Thursday’s game had originally been scheduled for a 1:10 p.m. start but the rain that washed away both the Padres’ and Rockies’ full-team, on-field workouts on Wednesday is expected to linger in the region, according the National Weather Service.
