The seismic activity during Swift’s performances peaked during hits like ‘…Ready For It?’ and ‘Cruel Summer’, with fans generating ground movements detectable miles away.Taylor Swift has always known how to make a crowd move, but her recent concerts in Edinburgh have proven that her fans can literally make the earth shake.
“Each of the three evenings followed a similar seismographic pattern, with ‘…Ready For It?’, ‘Cruel Summer’, and ‘Champagne Problems’ resulting in the most significant seismic activity each night,” the BGSThis concert series marks the beginning of Taylor Swift’s 17-show tour in the UK, which will end with an impressive eight nights at London’s Wembley Stadium.
The activity reached its peak during ‘…Ready For It?,’ with the crowd dancing at a frenzied 160 beats per minute, generating around 80 kW of power, equivalent to 10-16 car batteries.The BGS’s detectors, sensitive enough to pick up the smallest seismic activity from miles away, captured the excitement of Swifties.
