DRUMMONDVILLE, QUE. – The Cape Breton Eagles opened their three-game Quebec road trip on the right note on Thursday night.The Eagles never trailed in the game and held a 4-1 lead at the seven-minute mark of the third period before the Voltigeurs pulled to within two.Ethan Gauthier scored both goals for the Voltigeurs , who are 4-5-1-0 in their last 10 games.The Eagles and Voltigeurs finished with 27 shots apiece. Cape Breton went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Drummondville was 2-for-4.
Gauthier scored his sixth of the year on the power play at 16:40 of the second period to pull the Voltigeurs to within one, but Lavoie regained the two-goal lead with his second of the game late in the frame.
