In-person volunteer meetings are back after a hiatus at Burnaby-based PADS, which houses and trains puppies to become assistance dogs.

In-person volunteer information sessions are back after a hiatus at a Burnaby-based facility that houses puppies and trains them as assistance dogs.

Pacific Assistance Dogs Society , a group that’s been breeding, raising and training certified assistance dogs that help people with mobility issues or post-traumatic stress disorder for over 35 years is hosting its first in-person spring volunteer info session. It's slated for Saturday, March 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. at its Burnaby location .The session will offer insight on different programs and volunteer opportunities.

"This is a good opportunity for people who love dogs and have been thinking about volunteering with us but do not know where to start," said Meredith Areskoug, marketing and media co-ordinator for PADS. Some light refreshments will also be provided. Space is limited, so interested folks are encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible.Cost: Free; RSVP here.
