The Puerto Rico power authority is set to declare a state of emergency in an effort to improve its fleet of power generators that have been in critical condition, the utility said.
The publicly owned Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, or Prepa, said declaring a state of emergency would allow it to more quickly address problems with its power generators. Prepa said Puerto Rico Gov. Pedro Pierluisi has made all the government’s resources available to the utility.
