A Utah County couple was arrested after authorities found an 8-year-old child with a disability chained to a bed inside their Provo home.
Emily Sorensen, 40, and Benjamin Sorensen, 45, were arrested on charges related to child abuse on Tuesday, Mar. 5. Police were contacted by the Division of Child and Family Services regarding a case of child abuse around 4:30 p.m. During a visit to the home, they found an 8-year-old non-verbal child chained to a bed by the ankle, causing injury.
"A warrant was secured by DCFS for the removal of all five children residing within the home," a press release states.
