The Saskatchewan Virtual Visit Program, which launched in June 2022, allows patients and health care providers to connect with each other from anywhere for free, using audio or video conferencing.In a release issued Thursday, Minister of Health Paul Merriman said the goal is to ensure Saskatchewan residents can easily connect with their health care providers, regardless of where they live.
“The program improves access to care, reduces the need to travel for patients in rural settings, and allows providers to treat patients in a more timely fashion, on a schedule that works for them.”a balance between in-person and over-the-phone visits is needed, and that many doctors prefer in-person visits, especially for patients who have specific ailments that require a hands-on approach.We deliver the local news you need in these turbulent times on weekdays at 3 p.m.
