Queen’s Park is earmarking an extra $224-million to construct and upgrade training centres for the skilled trades.
As well, an extra $75-million will invested over a three-year period to support operations and programming. Eligible applicants, including unions, Indigenous centres, businesses and industry associations, can apply to the Skills Development Fund starting in late spring. Selected training centres will receive funding to undergo renovations, retrofits or expansions, among other projects.
