Prosecutors presented more than 1,000 pieces of evidence and called nearly 80 witnesses to the stand over the course of the three week trial, according to Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley. The emotional toll was palpable on the final day of testimony, as some family members found themselves unable to endure the images of their deceased loved ones."There were so many gunshot wounds to his body," Doorley said. " one right through his forehead that entered his brain.
In response to that, Monroe County Assistant District Attorney countered that in a court of law, both direct and circumstantial evidence carry equal weight. "There was testimony that was put on during the course of the trial that shows what gang wars look like and how they fight each other," Doorley said. "That was not what was done in this case. Officer Mazurkiewicz and Seng were patient, they were surveilling, and they were watching. That's not what gang members do, and that's what I was trying to get out to the judge."
