The shop only opened last year
Part of prominent building in Nottingham city centre remains vacant after the closure of a clothes shop. The unit on the corner of Thurland Street and Pelham Street has been empty since the recent closure of Thrift Store.

Thrift Store opened in Nottingham on February 2 2022. It is unclear what the reason is for the shop's closure.Elsewhere on Pelham Street, just a few doors down, independent vintage clothing shop Braderie announced it would be closing on Sunday, March 26. The shop said this was due to the economic pressures it was facing.
The East Midlands Chamber, which works with businesses across the region, said the retail industry was facing "difficult times". Commenting on the closures, chief executive Scott Knowles said: “It’s always disappointing to see shops shut, especially given the struggles Nottingham has faced in recent years with the closure of Debenhams and the half-demolished state of the former Broadmarsh Centre.
“We know the retail industry is facing difficult times due to the acceleration of pre-existing online shopping trends during the pandemic, and the twin crises in the cost of living and cost of doing business since we came out of lockdown. There is a wider discussion to be had about the purpose of our city centres, and if our experiences of the pandemic taught us anything, it is that we need bold new thinking to ensure they comprise a healthy mix of amenities for living, working and leisure.
