The Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex submitted separate video messages that were played at the 2023 Diana Awards Ceremony on Friday.
William, 41, appeared at the beginning of the ceremony and was introduced by former Diana Legacy Award winner Hannah Hodgson, who met him two years prior.The Diana Award/Youtube
The Diana Award was created to celebrate young people who are making positive changes in the world like Diana did.The Prince of Wales praised her and others for the “challenges they have overcome,” noting that “what unites them is their courage, compassion and a relentless dedication to improving the lives of others.”
“Today, we recognize the power of all young people — the power to challenge the status quo, to confront injustice and to inspire meaningful change,” he added.Harry praised his late mom’s ability to “push for a more inclusive and compassionate society” in his message.“As we come together, I am reminded of the profound belief my mother held in the transformative power of young people,” the Duke of Sussex, 38, said.
