Jake Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard may play rivals in their new show, “Presumed Innocent,” but they have an enviable bromance going on in real life. The brothers-in-law stopped by Studio 1A on June 12 to discuss their new project and told Savannah Guthrie their off-screen bond enhances their working relationship. “I think we both agree that it absolutely helps,' Gyllenhaal said.
Knowing that his brother-in-law, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, was already involved in the project was a major selling point for Sarsgaard. “It was not a coincidence that I ended up in the show,” he mused. During filming, the brothers-in-law were also roommates, and Sarsgaard joked that they stayed in their own corners of the house. 'Well he was all the way at this corner of the house, and I was down here. We would meet in the kitchen.
