“That was confusing for all of us, because we hadn’t heard a single thing from [the owners] since the news of the closure,” Tayler Sampson, a former bar manager at Starline who was among the staff first interviewed by KQED, “They didn’t talk to us about anything. There was no conversation,” Alina Vongsamart, a former Starline events manager, told SFGATE. “Anything the public knew, we learned about afterward.”
