Demand has been so high, the company has sold out of the popular chicken sandwich.
: Popeyes expects to run through its inventory of chicken sandwiches by the end of the week, the company said in aTuesday, as social media has created a frenzy over the chicken sandwiches creating sky-high demand and causing long lines and chaos at some Popeyes locations.
Popeyes said it doesn’t know when the wildly popular sandwich will return to the menu, but said it will alert customers who download the Popeyes app. The company expected its current inventory to last until the end of September, a Popeyes spokesperson told, and is working with suppliers to make sure the sandwich will be on the menu permanently going forward.: The obsession started after Popeyes started a Twitter feud with Chick-fil-A shortly after the company’s launch of its own chicken sandwich.
